The objectives of this Institute shall be as follows:
- Accelerate local development activities through capacity strengthening of local governments in planning, policies, management, and implementation of development activities.
- Training, workshop facilitation for the capacity building of local level government and the officials including development agencies and partner organizations.
- Strengthen cooperation and coordination between local and central level authorities to help strengthen the local governance process.
- Assist federal, province and local level governments and sectoral agencies in the preparation of policies, strategies, work plans, and directives to support and accelerate local development initiatives.
- Support promoting public private partnership and micro-credit facilities at the local level.
